Know what happens to your data

Data & privacy

Understand what happens when you check a page, save a report or change your reading preferences.

Before you scan

ADAflags fetches the public URL you submit and checks the HTML it returns. It does not send your browser's sign-in cookies or credentials to the scanned website. Use a page you own or have permission to check, and avoid URLs containing private access tokens or sensitive information.

Free previews

A preview report is returned to your current browser tab. It is not saved to an ADAflags account. ADAflags stores limited attempt records to enforce usage limits: a request identifier, a hashed website hostname and a timestamp.

Download your preview before leaving the page if you want to keep it. Signing in does not transfer that preview into your account.

Saved reports

Sign-in provides ADAflags with your account identity and email. Saved scan records are associated with your account ID and include the submitted URL, scan time, status and results. Findings can include a page title and short excerpts from the page's HTML.

Saved report pages and download requests require the same signed-in account that created them. The dashboard does not currently provide a control for deleting saved reports or your ADAflags account. Saved reports do not have an automatic deletion schedule.

Preferences in this browser

Display settings are saved in this browser when storage is available. Resetting those settings removes the saved preferences. A pending signed-in scan can also leave a temporary receipt in this browser tab so you can check its status.

Read aloud uses an English voice your browser reports as local, when one is available.

Downloads and connected assistants

Downloaded reports can contain page URLs, findings and source excerpts. Check their contents before sharing them. If you use an authenticated ADAflags assistant connection, reports you request are returned through that connection.

About this page

This page describes the data handled by the current ADAflags application. It does not set retention periods for the hosting platform's logs or backups.

Checking for a local reading voice…

Read-aloud is offered when this browser provides a local English voice. It is separate from your screen reader.
